2018, what a year!

January 1, 2019

Happy 2019 everyone! It’s so crazy that it is 2019 already. It seems like just yesterday, everyone was worried about Y2K, pay phones were actually a thing that people used, I celebrated the new year by watching TRL (Total Request Live) on MTV, and, well, MTV actually showed music videos. Now here we are, almost 20 years later, with things like Uber, Instagram, really smart smartphones, and three-way FaceTime.

Now that we’ve reached the first day of the new year, I wanted to take the time to look back on 2018. It was such an exceptional year. 2018 was one of the most pivotal years of my life and there were so many changes that happened in my business.

I went full time with photography

Earlier in the year, I made the decision to make the leap into being a full time wedding photographer. It has been exhilarating, challenging and rewarding. In short, my life as a full time photographer has been very faith building lol. I have grown both personally and professionally as a result of my choice to become a full time photographer. Some perks to being full time with my photography: I do thoroughly enjoy my commute times to work every day. Also a really big bright spot is the fact that I’ve come across some really incredible people in the process. The amazing wedding professionals and awesome clients that I’ve had the pleasure to work with–I am one truly blessed woman. ?

I teamed up with some amazing, amazing, amazing, amazing vendors to bring to life a styled shoot that was featured in Black Bride magazine’s Summer 2018 issue. This shoot was SOOOO much fun and I am super proud of what we produced.

International traveling continues

If you know anything about me, you all know that #TravelIsLife. My goal is to go to two new countries every year and this past year I was able to do that! Altogether, I traveled to 5 countries (and three of them were first time visits for me). I traveled back to the UK and Italy in April and in May, I got to travel to The Netherlands, Luxembourg, and Belgium. I’m so sad that I was ill the entire time I was in The Netherlands, Luxembourg, and Belgium, but I guess that just means I have to go back over there and explore again.?

2018 was a life changing year. Can’t wait to see what you have in store for me, 2019!
